HAWAII DAY OF DETAILS

We are looking forward to celebrating with you on Walk day! To help you prepare for the big event, we wanted to answer any questions you may have about what to do prior to the event and where to go once you arrive at Walk MS. Let us know if you have additional questions by emailing us or calling us at (808) 532-0805. Let’s get started:

Q:  Where do I check in?

A:
When you arrive at Walk MS, be sure to stop by the check-in tent to receive your official Walk MS Bib. Top fundraisiers raising $1,000 should check-in at the Top Fundraiser / VIP Tent. Every person (including team members) joining us at Walk MS must check-in to receive a bib in order to participate in Walk MS.

Q: What do I need to bring to the walk?

A: Please bring any last minute donations with you to check in as well as your donation collection envelope.

Q: What is the pledge minimum?

A:
Fundraising is encouraged for Walk MS. While there is no minimum to participate, the average participant raises $250. All donations are welcome so that we can continue to fund local programs and services to people with MS. To receive an official Walk MS event t-shirt, you must raise a minimum of $100.

Q: I'm walking and my family will be joining me. Should they register for Walk MS?

A: Everyone attending Walk MS should register online or by calling the local MS office. If unable to pre-register those walking with you, please report to check-in on the day of the Walk to pick up their walk packet.

Q: May I walk at more than one Walk MS site?

A: Sure, we would love to have you! Be sure to register for easy check-in on Walk day.

Q: I will be out of town during Walk MS. Can I still participate as a Virtual Walker?

A: Yes! You do not have to physically walk or even be at the event to participate in the Walk. You can be a Virtual Walker as an individual, team participant or as a volunteer. As a Virtual Walker, you can raise money and will be eligible to receive all benefits and prizes as walkers. Register now!

Q: What should I Wear?

A:
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. We walk rain or shine - a light jacket in case of rain or if it's too cool after sunset might be something you want to bring. You may  also want to bring a favorite snack or food items. Food is available at the event, but it’s important to note that individual’s taste range and if there are items that you prefer please bring them. If you have a special diet, you are encouraged to bring food items compatible with your diet.

Q:  Can you bring pets to the walk?

A:  Only service animals are permitted.  If you are planning to bring a pet to the walk, be sure to bring appropriate documentation, as well as items to clean up after your pet. Please note that there are large crowds on Walk day so be sure your pet is comfortable with lots of action.

Q: What should I expect to do at Walk MS?

A: When you arrive to Walk MS, stop in at check-in to receive your official Walk MS packet and then head out to enjoy the festivities. Be sure to stop at the Wall of Hope to share why you are walking.

Q: Does the walk route accommodate wheelchairs/scooters, strollers/wagons, bikes, and/or skateboards?

A:
The walk routes are accommodating to strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters. However, due to safety issues, you may not ride a bike, rollerblade, or skateboard.
